BLOOMINGTON, IL: State Farm Insurance plans to conduct a selective review for a firm to collaborate with its internal communications team on corporate communications and product PR.
The agency has worked with GolinHarris on a project basis since February 2004. Golin will complete any work in progress through December 31, and it may participate in the review if it chooses, according to Phil Supple, senior director of external relations at State Farm.
“It's less about them and more about State Farm and how we're taking more aggressive steps to advance with our stronger, dedicated internal team,” said Supple. “We have a strong dedicated team on board and we look forward to working with an agency that can compliment our team.”
The review was not caused by the economic downturn, either, he said, though declined to go into further details about the review or what the new contract would entail.
Golin declined to comment for this story; Supple, however, said the firm has focused on brand and product PR for State Farm's life insurance products since it was hired nearly five years ago.
The insurance company does not work with other PR firms, he added.
