Yesterday, Nick Denton announced he would fold Silicon Valley's infamous rumor hub Valleywag into Gawker. But Denton's not killing the rumor mill altogether; it's brand will remain intact.
Also Valleywag editor Owen Thomas will stay on. According to the New York Times, Valleywag gets about 1 million unique visitors to its site each month but lagged behind Gawker in ad revenues.
Read Valleywag's account here.
*CORRECTION: An earlier account of this story said Valleywag "came to a sudden halt," but in fact the Web site continues to produce while it is being folded into Gawker's main site. We regret the error.
