Dorland Global lays off nine

PHILADELPHIA: Dorland Global laid off nine employees as part of a consolidation of internal communications. Included in the layoffs were Heather Brucker, manager of corporate communications, and one junior staffer at Dorland Global Public Relations. Nancy Bacher Long, the president of Dorland Global Public Relations until November 10, is acting in Brucker's capacity until a replacement is made. In October, the Philadelphia-based healthcare agency announced that Long was moving into a consultant role and Camela Morrissey would replace her as president. Long said that the two events were unrelated but did say that the economy played a role in the decision, although there was no specific loss of business that directly contributed to the layoffs. Dorland Global has 100 employees.
