TORONTO: Fleishman-Hillard Canada recently appointed Mia Wedgbury to president, Canadian region, and subsequently shuffled a number of other agency executives' posts.
Wedgbury was previously president and cofounder of Fleishman Canada's lifestyle division, High Road Communications.
“They wanted someone to have a view of the Canadian market overall, and to help from an operational and growth perspective,” said Wedgbury. “High Road has an incredible track record of growth, and based on that [Fleishman] asked me to apply that same vision, management and overall operations on a bigger basis.” High Road has grown to 85 people since its inception in 1996.
Two regional directors previously oversaw Fleishman Canada: Linda Smith covered Toronto and Calgary, as well as the digital arm, iStudio; and Michael von Herff covered Ottawa and Vancouver. While von Herff continues to manage these markets, Smith has taken a new role as regional director, new business for all of North America. Smith led the agency team helping Maple Leaf Foods communicate during the listeriosis outbreak crisis.
In addition, Justin Creally, SVP and senior partner, will take on a larger role running High Road while Wedgbury no has other responsibilities.
