LOS ANGELES: Murphy O'Brien has signed the new Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas to an AOR deal for media relations.
The new luxury property opened last week, and is a golf and spa property located on a private lake that is driving distance from the Las Vegas Strip. The annual budget for the account is $84,000.
For the Ritz opening, the agency concentrated on local and trade press rather than a national rollout, scoring placements in outlets such as The Salt Lake Tribune, The San Diego Union Tribune, and The Dallas Morning News.
The account marks the eighth AOR deal for Murphy O'Brien since last June.
The company has expanded its roster of travel and leisure clients to include Maui's Ka'anapali Beach Hotel; Villa Toscana, an eight-suite property in Pasa Robles, CA; The Peninsula Hong Kong; and the Calistoga Ranch, a Napa Valley property by the owners of Auberge du Soleil, scheduled to open later this year.
The agency has also picked up three non-travel accounts. Arizona-based real-estate developer Lyle Anderson Company has signed for media relations on its luxury golf and residential properties. Cloud Star Company, a maker of healthy animal products, and bread makers Milton's Baking Company are also new clients. The latter two accounts have annual budgets of $72,000.
The budgets for the other new accounts are in the high five figures and low six figures, and total $672,000 in annual revenue.
