LONDONBERRY, NH: Stonyfield Farm has hired a new communications VP to oversee three major PR programs the organic yogurt maker has underway.
Cathleen Toomey joined Stonyfield from Clarks Shoes, where she was director of marketing for North America.
"Stonyfield has built its reputation on PR. CEO Gary Hirshberg is a firm believer in guerrilla marketing," said Toomey.
The first program Toomey will lead is a women's seminar in upstate New York in November, dubbed the "Strong Women's Summit." "It's a weekend of inspiration and renewal" for about 500 women, Toomey explained. Erin Brockovich is one scheduled speaker.
The company is also cosponsoring a cooking contest with Cooking Light magazine, and a third initiative seeks to encourage healthier snacks in schools.
