CONCORD, NH: In a postscript to last week's PR Play of the Week, Louis Karno Communications (LKC) has officially won the account for Portuguese airline SATA, becoming the company's first PR agency.
According to LKC president Jayme Simoes, contracts will be negotiated and signed April 11. Budgets are expected to be small by large-agency standards, but respectable for the New Hampshire-based boutique.
LKC, which mostly works with local clients, earned the account after doing media relations on spec after the Azores summit attended by President Bush and the Prime Ministers of Britain, Spain, and Portugal.
"They were impressed with our quick work and the many responses to it," Simoes said.
Simoes will continue by arranging trips to the Azores, via SATA, for the 77 travel editors who expressed interest in the destination as a result.
