Western president Pforzheimer opts to leave Edelman

PALO ALTO, CA: Harry Pforzheimer, president of Edelman's Western region and GM of its Silicon Valley office, has quit the agency with no job to go to.

PALO ALTO, CA: Harry Pforzheimer, president of Edelman's Western region and GM of its Silicon Valley office, has quit the agency with no job to go to.

He will continue to work for Edelman as an independent contractor. He said the decision was "mutually agreed to" and amicable, adding that he left for "personal reasons."

"This gives me some flexibility and a bit of a break," said Pforzheimer. "I've thought about starting my own business. As word has gotten out, just about every principal of every firm has called me at home. I'm taking a couple months off, but there's a tremendous amount of opportunity out there."

EVP and deputy GM Luca Penati will run the Silicon Valley office, said Edelman president and US COO Pamela Talbot. Edelman also has no immediate plans to replace Pforzheimer as Western region president.

His departure comes soon after the loss of another tech leader. Carlo Crighton, international director of Edelman's tech practice, left last month.
