New Line promotes four in its PR staff after $900m year

LOS ANGELES: New Line Cinema has made a quartet of promotions in its publicity department.

LOS ANGELES: New Line Cinema has made a quartet of promotions in its publicity department.

Tracy Lorie has been promoted to SVP of international publicity for the company. She will report to Camela Galano, president of New Line International Releasing. Lorie is charged with publicity campaigns and junkets for all international releases, as well as film-festival appearances.

Two other appointments were also made in the international PR department.

Trish Vasquez is now director of international publicity, and Kristi Foreman has been promoted to manager of international publicity. Both report to Lorie.

On the domestic side, Lina Plath has been promoted to director of national publicity. She previously held the same title at sister company Fine Line Features. She is based in New York, and reports to SVP of publicity Clare Anne Darragh.

The promotions come after New Line's most financially successful international year ever. The studio grossed more than $900 million in 2002, largely due to hits such as the first two segments of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The third installment, The Return of the King, is due out later this year.
