Washington: Golin/Harris International is launching an environmental public affairs practice based in its DC office. The group has already nabbed the US Green Building Council and AbTech Industries as clients.
Golin VP Erin Hart is heading the new practice, which has six staffers. She is a former environmental-education director for Florida, who joined Golin when it acquired The Nixon Group. "She brings the social marketing aspect," said Lane Bailey, Golin's managing director in DC.
Also in the new practice is Kurt Markva, a Golin SVP who has worked for two Republican members of Congress.
The new environmental practice was "established because we think there are growing opportunities in the PR industry to play a role in helping business, government, and the nonprofit world solve environmental problems," said Bailey.
