LOS ANGELES: Universal Pictures has chosen a new head of publicity from its internal ranks.

LOS ANGELES: Universal Pictures has chosen a new head of publicity from its internal ranks.

Michael Moses was promoted to EVP in charge of the studio's PR operations last week, reporting to copresident of marketing Eddie Egan. He will oversee all campaigns for domestic releases.

The job has been vacant for several months, since former head Terry Curtin left last March to take over the marketing department at Revolution Studios.

Universal has several big films coming up, including The Hulk, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Seabiscuit.

Universal has also promoted Holly Bario to the role of SVP. She most recently worked on the current release Bruce Almighty, as well as 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The promotions come at a time when Universal is facing an uncertain future, after parent company Vivendi Universal has announced plans to sell its entertainment assets.
