NEW YORK: Hill & Knowlton has appointed Ruth Pestana to the newly created role of director of strategic services.
Pestana will work with account teams throughout H&K's US offices to create a network
of existing strategic expertise across the country.
As the firm's liaison regarding WPP's brand equity studies, BrandZ and SportZ, Pestana will also work with H&K research and business intelligence units to help account teams utilize data put out by brand-equity studies during strategic planning and pitching.
"What I would like this position to do for the company is bring a greater degree of measurability to what we do," Pestana said. "The value of PR has been overlooked for
so long. We have case studies to show that what we do has brought success, but I want to take that to the next level, be clear about objectives, and prove that our results are valuable."
Pestana, who was formerly a member of H&K's global corporate group reporting to worldwide chairman and CEO Paul Taaffe, will now report directly to MaryLee Sachs, president and CEO.
Earlier this year, Pestana led the development of H&K's global brand positioning and relaunch of its new corporate identity.
