Vollmer brought in to push getAccess

HOUSTON: Clear Channel Entertainment (CCE) has tapped Vollmer to help spread the word about its newly revamped loyalty program.

CCE launched getAccess last spring, promoting it mainly as a way for members to buy tickets to concerts and other events before they go on sale to the general public, explained Billy Levy, VP and GM of CCE's ticketing and consumer marketing division. "We've greatly upgraded the offering in 2003 to add significant value," Levy said.

This year, people who buy $60 memberships receive four concert-ticket vouchers redeemable at 37 CCE amphitheaters, VIP passes, and presale offers (in addition to other entertainment discounts).

CCE used its in-house staff to promote the program last year, but sought outside help as it expanded. The company liked Vollmer's consumer-product experience and its work for Clear Channel Exhibitions, Levy said.

The national project focuses heavily on promoting local venues, with Vollmer guiding media relations. Annual memberships can be purchased online and at Best Buy stores, and four-month memberships are available on eBay.
