NEW YORK: Martha Stewart's legal team has been working with crisis specialist Citigate Sard Verbinnen to help the media magnate communicate her side of her recent legal troubles to her customers and the general public.
The central aspect of Citigate Sard's effort so far has been MarthaTalks.com, a website that features a letter from Stewart to the public, an area where visitors can post letters of support, and a section designed to dispel misconceptions about the nature of the charges against Stewart.
Agency chairman and CEO George Sard called the website a "phenomenal success," citing the heavy traffic the site has generated thus far.
Stewart's company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, has also sought crisis counsel, recently hiring Citigate Sard competitor Kekst & Co., according to a Martha Stewart Living spokesperson.
Nevertheless, the company and Stewart still retain the services of her longtime publicist Susan Magrino, according to several sources.
