SANTA CLARA, CA: Hitachi Data Systems has selected Blanc & Otus (B&O) as its new AOR in the US to help the data-storage company develop its PR with a global perspective. Hitachi Data Systems previously worked with Atomic PR.

"We wanted a firm with a true global presence," said Steven Zivanic, director of corporate communications. "We use a lot of agencies around the globe. And working with Blanc & Otus gives us the possibility to centralize that PR."

He added, "They also have a demonstrated track record for attaining business coverage,

and that's something we want. We want to go beyond the

trade publications."

B&O will work with Hitachi Data Systems on its numerous product lines, as well as corporate communications, said agency VP Kim Bouic.

"We're doing everything from messaging and positioning to media training," she said. "One of the things I'm most excited about is this is a storage company, which is a stable

sector for growth."
