TORONTO: Cohn & Wolfe (C&W) has acquired Canadian agency ETC Communications, which will be integrated with C&W's Toronto office.

The new organization will operate under the C&W name, and will service clients in the financial, healthcare, tech, and consumer-product sectors.

"While we were offered several opportunities to merge our team with other PR firms, C&W made the most sense," said ETC founder Eileen Tobey, who will assume an SVP position in the new organization.

She will report to Carol Panasiuk, EVP and GM of C&W Canada.

"ETC is a perfect fit with C&W from a values point of view," Panasiuk said. "Over

the last 13 years, ETC has established a strong and loyal client base."

C&W's presence in Canada is on an affiliate basis through National Public Relations.
