NEW YORK: More than four years after overseeing the sale of his IR firm, The Financial Relations Board, to True North's PR arm BSMG in a stock deal then valued at about $33 million, Ted Pincus is rejoining the agency world.

Pincus is planning to become a consultant to Ruder Finn.

Although he is not joining the New York-based agency full-time, the firm said that Pincus, one of the founding fathers of outsourced IR services, will help Ruder Finn oversee the firm's expansion of its financial communications offerings.

Pincus will work with the agency's financial and corporate groups in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Recently, Pincus has been working as an independent IR consultant, and has been writing a business column for the Chicago Sun-Times.

"We are very excited that Ted has joined Ruder Finn as we expand our expertise and service offerings in the financial markets/services arena," said Richard Funess, president of Ruder Finn/Americas.
