Chicago: Jeff Leshay has joined the Chicago office of Edelman as an EVP and senior counselor in its corporate affairs practice. Leshay had directed the public affairs group in the pharmaceutical products division of Abbott Laboratories.

SANTA CLARA, CA: Karen Klein has joined Sun Microsystems as senior director of software communications. Klein oversees all communications surrounding Sun's various software platforms, including Java. Klein was previously an EVP and GM of Magnet Communications' San Francisco office, which she joined in December, having left Weber Shandwick as GM of its San Francisco office.
MIAMI: Pacer Health, operator of assisted-living and residential-care facilities, has named Edelman its agency of record for national media outreach, as the company looks to expand beyond Florida.
HATO REY, Puerto Rico: Grey Global has rebranded the PR arm of WING Latino Group as GCI Puerto Rico. E. Tom?s Dardet, VP/MD, will report to Jeff Hunt in Austin, TX, who serves as president and CEO of GCI Latin America. The seven-person office will serve as a launch pad for GCI in the Caribbean, and will support future expansion plans in Latin America, Hunt said.
