CAMBRIDGE, MA: After two years without a PR agency, Akamai Technologies has chosen FitzGerald Communications as its US agency of record. Akamai previously worked with the now-defunct NYPR.

"We've been doing PR in-house," explained director of PR Jeff Young. "We wanted to extend our in-house program with a strong agency to support us on a number of levels." Young pointed to FitzGerald's strong customer base, good relationships with the media, and local headquarters in Boston as among the reasons why Akamai picked the firm.

"We also looked at their ability to provide accountability and measurement," said Young. "It's important to be able to measure, so we can show internally the value of the work

being done."

Akamai's computing platforms allow businesses to deliver and manage content, applications, and other components of e-business infrastructure.
