LA mayor's Middlebrook joins Fleishman

SAN FRANCISCO: Matt Middlebrook will join Fleishman-Hillard in October to head up the agency's San Francisco public affairs practice.

SAN FRANCISCO: Matt Middlebrook will join Fleishman-Hillard in October to head up the agency's San Francisco public affairs practice.

Middlebrook is currently Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn's deputy mayor for communications and policy. He will join Fleishman as an SVP.

At Fleishman, Middlebrook will oversee public affairs, issues management, and crisis communications for the firm's clients in the Bay Area.

Middlebrook will work closely with Fleishman's other public affairs staff in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Washington, DC, and other offices.

Middlebrook managed Mayor Hahn's 2001 campaign, and his successful 1997 campaign

for city attorney. Before working with Hahn, Middlebrook was deputy state director for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).

The firm also recently hired Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante's communications director Deborah Pacyna to head its Sacramento practice.
