CAMBRIDGE, MA: Former Weber Shandwick president and COO Marijean Lauzier has launched a new PR and marketing consultancy, Racepoint Group.

Lauzier sold her company Neva Group to Interpublic Group in 1997 to become Weber Group CEO. She left WS in 2001 to focus on new ventures.

Lauzier said her new firm will focus on three practice sectors - tech, health, and science - launching with one client in each area. So far, ACUITIV Software, healthcare software provider Sentillion, and Excel Switching Corp., which Racepoint helped relaunch after it was spun out of Lucent Technologies, have all retained the firm.

She also said that Racepoint's 10 staffers would be managing the firm's accounts with the aid of FieldFacts, a proprietary research and measurement tool.

"We're working with companies that have a powerful need to get high levels of credibility quickly," Lauzier said.
