LOS ANGELES: Entertainment-focused agency mPRm has made two staff promotions to fill a void caused by the departure of its film division head earlier this month.

Michael Lawson is now SVP in charge of film. He has been with mPRm on and off since 1993, and began his new role last week at the Toronto Film Festival, where mPRm is representing upcoming releases Dummy and Wonderland.

The firm also promoted Chris Libby to director. Libby will help with campaigns for the upcoming movies Calendar Girls and Tupac: Resurrection.

The restructuring took place to fill the gap left by former film-division head Laura Kim, who left earlier this month to take the lead PR spot at Warner Bros.' new independent film unit Warner Independent Pictures.
