HONG KONG: Edelman has appointed three senior business and public affairs leaders to its Asia Pacific operation in an effort to provide better consultation, as well as improve its understanding of the region.

Mark Juhn, newly retired as Kia Motors' COO and head of its international business division, will serve as chairman in Korea. Dato Salleh Majid, former president of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, will serve as chairman in Malaysia. Johnathan Miller, who has long served the US government and business consultancies, will serve as director of Asia Pacific.

"When I joined 18 months ago, I noticed a gap in what we offered the region, and that was a solid boardroom offer, and the ability to understand what was going on in the board rooms here," explained Alan VanderMolen, Edelman's president for Asia Pacific. "We wanted to put together a team of chairmen who had unfettered access to government and business leaders."
