PARSIPPANY, NJ: Avis has hired MWW to handle a new PR campaign revolving around the 40th anniversary of the company's "We Try Harder" slogan.
The campaign will tie together the themes of customer service and community service. MWW has arranged a partnership for Avis with the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network.
Avis will make donations to the foundation when customers register for a contest to win one million airline miles, explained Ted Deutsch, VP of communications/public affairs for Cendant's car rental group. Cendant is the parent company of Avis and also owns competitor Budget.
MWW will handle media relations for the anniversary, seeking to reach the travel and business press, Deutsch said.
