Xyron's 150 create-a-sticker machine turns photos, labels, and other small decorative items into stickers, up to 1.5 inches wide. (Other consumer models that make stickers as large as 12 inches wide are also available through Xyron.) You drop the sticker-to-be item into the feed tray, pull it out the other side on the adhesive tape, and tear it from the dispenser. After rubbing the item's edges to ensure flat and secure placement, peel away the clear mask. Voila!
From the looks of the 150, you wouldn't think it could handle more than some very thin and lightweight items. But even when I tried it out on an unusually thick business card, the adhesive secured itself firmly. Cartridge replacements are available in two types of adhesive: permanent, for scrapbooks and fabric, and repositionable, for windows or painted walls. Note, however, that each additional cartridge costs half ($4.99) as much as the maker itself. The verdict: Deem items sticker-worthy wisely, and this will surely make a useful addition to any collection of arts and crafts tools. Any questions?
