ALEXANDRIA, VA: The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) has convinced one-time employee Kelley Gannon to leave her current White House post to come back to the NACDS and take over its top communications post.
The organization had been without a communications head since July, when Crystal Wright, former VP of media relations, left to start a PR department at Leiner Health Products.
Gannon, NACDS' VP of media relations in 2001, most recently served as special assistant to the President and White House director of press advance.
Gannon cited drug importation and counterfeiting as issues of high importance as she settles into her post.
NACDS, which doesn't currently work with a PR firm, has also entrusted Gannon to assess the organization's need for external communications.
