LIVINGSTON, NJ: Last week, the long-expected merger between Burrelle's Information Services and Luce Information Services was made official, creating a 1,400-person media-monitoring company, Burrelle's/Luce.
Burrelle's CEO Robert Waggoner will take the helm of the combined company, while John French, previously CEO of Luce, will assume the role of president and COO. Waggoner said no significant layoffs or new hires would be involved.
The facilities and services of the companies will be combined, creating a company comparable in terms of size and offerings to chief rival Bacon's Information.
The combined customer bases, said Waggoner, will "step up the pace for new product introduction." He confirmed, however, that Burrelle's/Luce's immediate focus would remain on promoting Insight, its recently launched digital platform for comprehensive media monitoring and analysis.
