KENILWORTH, NJ: Schering-Plough has named Mary-Frances Faraji its new VP of global product communications and advocacy development. She previously led PR efforts for Pfizer on a temporary basis following the company's recent merger with Pharmacia.
The appointment makes Faraji the fourth senior addition to Schering's communications department to come from Pharmacia, where she served as senior director of PR and advocacy development prior to taking on the five-month interim post at Pfizer. She joins Ellen Geisel, head of Schering's allergy franchise; Carrie Cox, EVP and president of global pharmaceuticals; and recently named group VP of global communications Jeff Winton. All three formerly worked in communications at Pharmacia.
Faraji will report directly to Winton in the new post, where she will have responsibility for product communications and advocacy development on a worldwide basis. The newly created role was developed as part of Schering's effort to establish what Faraji called "a dedicated, non-advertising communications product group."
