HONG KONG: Weber Shandwick (WS) has appointed Jill Mortensen to MD of the agency's Hong Kong office.
Mortensen moved to Asia earlier this year as SVP and regional director of WS' Asia- Pacific healthcare practice. She will retain those duties while taking on the additional responsibilities of MD.
Prior to joining WS, Mortensen held positions at Burson-Marsteller, GCI, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and Copenhagen-based Novo Nordisk, where she managed global marketing communications for new product launches. She also served as an independent marketing consultant in Denmark, launching a new online training program to the company's corporate clients in the US.
"We are delighted that Jill has taken on this role," said WS Asia-Pacific president Andrew Pirie in a prepared statement. "The Weber Shandwick team at a senior level is significantly strengthened as we seek to develop and grow our business in the important Hong Kong market."
