ST. PAUL, MN: Former Weber Shandwick chief strategy officer Scott Meyer has joined Lawson Software in the newly created CMO position.
Meyer will assume responsibility for helping raise the company's profile in the fiercely competitive enterprise-software market, as well as drive business development. Meyer will be reporting to president and CEO Jay Coughlan.
Meyer was a founding partner of Minneapolis PR agency Mona Meyer McGrath & Gavin, which eventually became WS' Minneapolis office.
While WS is one of the largest PR firms in the world, Lawson is more of an upstart brand in the enterprise-software market, which is currently dominated by companies such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and Siebel Systems.
