SACRAMENTO, CA: Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Rob Stutzman as his communications director. Schwarzenegger, who won California's governorship in a landmark recall election last month, is expected to take office by mid-November.
Stutzman, 35, was co-communications director for the Schwarzenegger for Governor campaign. Before joining Schwarzenegger's campaign to replace the state's now-outgoing governor, Gray Davis, Stutzman was a founding partner at CommandFocus, a Sacramento-based communications company whose clients included the California Republican Party.
Stutzman has also served as communications director for former California Attorney General Dan Lungren, who ran unsuccessfully against Davis for governor in 1998.
Stutzman has also worked in the minority leader's office in the state senate, as well as managing communications for law-enforcement events and California's lawsuits against the tobacco industry.
