MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Edelman has named Rich Moore global president of its tech practice.
Moore was previously a venture partner with Battery Ventures, advising clients on marketing and communications strategies. Moore is also one of the cofounders of Copithorne and Bellows. Before that, Moore was a VP and GM with Miller Communications.
Moore will work from Edelman's Silicon Valley office, where the firm recently promoted EVP Luca Penati to GM.
"The people I met were terrific," said Moore of Edelman. "The client mix is intriguing, both in and beyond tech. And they offer a range of resources for companies that need something other than traditional PR. I like the fact that Edelman is independent, and that they have a very strong entrepreneurial spirit, even though they are very well-established."
