Waggener Edstrom has brought in non-agency talent as VPs in the California office: Financial Times bureau chief Paul Abrahams and Microsoft's Carol Sacks.
"The addition of Paul and Carol to our leadership team underscores our commitment to hiring the best talent and delivering excellent results," said Wag Ed SVP Kazumi Mechling in a release.
Abrahams' new job will be to provide strategic counsel, as well as to help develop new business. At the FT he was entered for a Pulitzer, and was the bureau chief in Tokyo before assuming the same role in San Francisco. He'd been with the broadsheet for 15 years.
Sacks was most recently on Microsoft's corporate PR team, working out of the company's Silicon Valley offices. She was formerly head of corporate communications at WebTV, and has also worked on the in-house PR teams at Sun Microsystems and Adobe Systems. She too will work on client service and business development.
