LOS ANGELES: Ruder Finn has lost its Los Angeles managing director to Ogilvy.
James Williams will be moving to an EVP role at Ogilvy's LA office by the end of the month, where he will focus on the Sun Microsystems account, as well as acting as an "account planner for brand marketing," he confirmed.
While Williams will be the senior staffer in the office, San Francisco-based Clay Hausmann will remain the MD.
This is not Williams' first stint with Ogilvy. Before joining Ruder Finn in 2002, he served as the MD of the LA office.
Williams has also worked at Ketchum, where he was partner and global account director for the MCI account.
Sun Microsystems has started off the year with good press in the financial sector, with some analysts issuing buy ratings and positive growth projections.
