RCA Music Group hires new publicity head

LOS ANGELES: RCA Music Group, a unit of BMG Entertainment, has named Mika El-Baz as its new SVP of publicity.

LOS ANGELES: RCA Music Group, a unit of BMG Entertainment, has named Mika El-Baz as its new SVP of publicity.

El-Baz will be in charge of all press for the division, as well as publicity for subsidiary J Records. She will also oversee corporate communications.

El-Baz reports to RCA Music Group president Charles Goldstruck, as well as to Tom Corson, EVP of worldwide marketing and sales for J Records.

"Mika brings a wealth of top-flight experience to RCA Music Group at a time of unprecedented growth," said Goldstruck.

One of her first projects will be helping with PR efforts for RCA Music Group chairman Clive Davis' annual Grammy night party in Los Angeles.

El-Baz was most recently co-head of the PR department at Interscope Geffen A&M, a division of Universal Music, where she helped support artists including 50 Cent, Enrique Iglesias, and Peter Gabriel.

RCA Music Group represents artists including Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, and Rod Stewart. The company also has American Idol stars such as Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken.
