NEW YORK: Ogilvy has promoted Lorra Brown to group director of the consumer-marketing practice. Previously, Brown was part of the consumer-marketing team, where she led clients including Cendant Travel Distribution Services, the American Red Cross Save a Life Tour, Target Stores, Coca-Cola, Jackson Hewitt, and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

PHOENIX: Marci Grossman, most recently corporate communications VP for Green Mountain Energy in Austin, TX, has launched KeyComm PR, a full-service agency based in Phoenix. The move highlights her 20-year career, which included serving as global employee communications director for Dell.

STUART, FL: The Pointe at Wellington Green, a multi-tenant, retail shopping center, has selected to handle PR, publicity, promotions, advertising, and events.

NEW YORK: CooperKatz & Co. has hired Jeanine Kober as manager of client services. She will oversee several consumer accounts and new product launches. Previously, Kober was VP at DeVries Public Relations.

MALDEN, MA: Topaz Partners has been selected for the PR launch of Hurwitz & Associates, a new consulting and research firm. Topaz will promote the work of Hurwitz as it helps businesses better respond to the changing needs of customers, suppliers, and partners.

GAINESVILLE, FL: Mark Weiner, CEO of Delahaye Medialink, the communications research division of Medialink Worldwide, has been named chair of the Commission on PR Measurement and Evaluation of the Institute for Public Relations for 2004.

NEW YORK: Cheryl Overton is rejoining Edelman's consumer practice as SVP after an 18-month hiatus. Overton will report to Lisa Sepulveda, EVP and GM of the New York consumer brands practice.

NEW YORK: Brainerd Communicators, an independent strategic communications firm, has appointed Tony Herrling as MD in the firm's media relations department, a newly created position. Previously, Herrling was manager of IR at Capital Cities/ABC.

BALTIMORE: Warschawski Public Relations has been retained by the New-York based Portfolio imprint of the Penguin Group, for the launch of Free Prize Inside, bestselling author Seth Godin's new book.

NEW YORK: Trylon Communications has been selected by Archaeology, the magazine of the Archaeological Institute of America, as its AOR. Trylon will handle PR to support the publication's new consumer-oriented editorial and marketing focus.

NEW YORK: Corbin & Associates, a PR agency specializing in consumer products, is working with eight new licensees as part of its ongoing representation of National Geographic's licensing group. Seven of the new licensees have merged to form the National Geographic Home Collection, including iPHOTOART, Lane Home Furnishings, Palecek, Sferra Bros., Toyo, Wildwood Lamps & Accents, and Zrike.

HONOLULU, HI: The Hawaii Convention and Visitors Bureau has renewed its relationship with McNeil Wilson Communications, with whom the bureau has worked for 11 years. McNeil Wilson will focus on promoting the arts and culture of Hawaii in the spring. The bureau is a nonprofit organization that promotes Hawaii to North America, and works for the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

SAN FRANCISCO: Waggener Edstrom has brought in non-agency talent as VPs in the Bay Area office - former Financial Times San Francisco bureau chief Paul Abrahams and Microsoft's Carol Sacks. Abrahams will provide strategic counsel, as well as help develop new business. Most recently, Sacks was a PR manager on Microsoft's corporate PR team, working out of the company's Silicon Valley offices. She will also work on client service and business development.
