KENILWORTH, NJ: Schering-Plough has named Julie Lux, a former staffer at Pharmacia, to the newly created position of director of global product communications and advocacy development.

Lux joins Schering from Pfizer, where she was retained for five months to help with the integration of Pharmacia's products for Parkinson's disease, women's health and overactive bladder.

Pfizer acquired Pharmacia in April, creating a combined entity more than 50% larger than its closest competitor.

In her new position at Schering, Lux will focus on primary care, which includes Schering's asthma and allergy franchises. She will work in conjunction with the company's consumer and animal health brand teams.

Lux will report to Mary-Frances Faraji, VP of global product communications and advocacy development, who also joined Schering after working at Pfizer during its period of transition.

Like Faraji's, Lux's appointment is part of Schering's efforts to establish a global product communications group for non-advertising support of all the company's products.
