CAMBRIDGE, MA: The Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) has selected the Racepoint Group to provide PR for Nanotech 2004, the institute's upcoming nanotechnology conference and trade show.

The conference began in 1998 as a small gathering for nanotechnology scientists. This year, the show will feature more than 70 vendors and organizers, and is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees.

Racepoint will reach out to the business and financial press, along with the science and tech media, to promote not just the conference, but also the nanotech industry as a major growth sector, said agency president Marijean Lauzier. Nanotech is poised to be a $1 trillion industry, according to the National Science Foundation, said Lauzier.

"The two states that have seen the most growth from this industry are California and Massachusetts," she explained. "We really want to talk about the economic and job-creation opportunities this industry represents."
