Interpublic-owned MWW has been working with iXP since the summer on its positioning and messaging.

Brian Plumb, SVP of marketing for iXP, based in Lawrenceville, NJ, said his company picked MWW because of its people, as well as the communications plan it developed. The company also said the firm's national scope was a factor.

MWW's Homeland Security Practice will be run out of the firm's Washington, DC, and New York offices, and will link public affairs, media relations, and crisis communications.

The agency's other current homeland security clients are the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Hitachi, which provides a biometric technology.
