DEARBORN, MI: Ford Motor has reorganized its communications operations, bringing North and South American public affairs staffers under one unit for the first time.
The move reflects changes made in Ford's corporate structure in the fourth quarter of last year, explained Ray Day, the new director of North America, South America and global product public affairs for Ford.
Before the reorganization, Day had overseen North America and global products communications.
Della DiPietro has become director of North and South American public affairs. She had been manager of US regional public affairs. In her new role, she'll oversee public affairs for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and manufacturing.
Karen Shaughnessy will now head regional public affairs for the Americas.
Before the changes, she had overseen sales and marketing public affairs, Day said.
The changes "are in line with our business changes," Day explained.
