New York: Golin/Harris International has tapped New York Daily News spokesman Ken Frydman as EVP and director of worldwide media relations.
As VP and director of corporate communications for the Daily News and US News & World Report, Frydman was in part responsible for the upkeep of the paper?s image during its constant skirmishing with rival New York Post. The two tabloids are locked in a bitter circulation war that often spills over into the city?s media columns.
Frydman, who also has worked for Edelman and headed up communications for former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani?s first successful campaign, had nothing but good things to say about the position at the tabloid.
?I enjoyed my time,? he said. ?It was a great job, and I?m joining Golin for a great opportunity. I?ll be counseling the firm?s clients on media relations.?
Frydman also worked as a journalist for broadcast and print outlets, including The Washington Star and Nation?s Restaurant News. He also has
contributed to publications like New York magazine and The Village Voice.
Frydman said his replacement had yet to be named.
