GARDENA, CA: Simon Sproule, VP corporate communications for Nissan North America, has been promoted to VP of global communications and investor relations for all of Nissan. He'll be moving from California to Tokyo April 1 to take on his new assignment.
Replacing Sproule in North America will be Frederique LaGreves who had been serving as Nissan's VP communications in Europe. A successor for LaGreves has not been named.
Scott Vazin, who had been director of corporate affairs for Nissan North America, is moving to Europe to become general manager corporate and product communications for Nissan in Europe.
Fred Standish, who has been Nissan's senior manager corporate affairs based in Detroit, is being moved to the North American headquarters in California. A successor for him in Detroit has not been named.
Nissan's global head of communications last October moved to Europe as an SVP for finance and administration. A company vice chairman had been overseeing communications on an interim basis and will now turn those duties over to Sproule.
The changes come as Nissan also has announced that president and CEO Carlos Ghosn will take on direct responsibility for North American operations.
