NEW YORK: Hill & Knowlton (H&K) has named Thomas Reno GM of its New York office. He is at least the eighth person (including two interim managers) to hold that position in about six years.
Reno joins the firm from GCI Group, where he was president of the New York office. GCI is currently looking for his replacement, said Susan Pagano, director of marketing.
H&K's New York GM post was most recently vacated when Marilyn Castaldi left the firm late last year. Castaldi had replaced Phil Sheldon, who left in 2002 to become MD of Lippe Taylor in New York.
"I'm looking forward to coming in and staying as long as they want me," Reno said.
Reno said he joined H&K because of the opportunity for career growth within parent WPP and because of his admiration for his former competitor's talent and clients.
Before GCI Group, Reno directed Makovsky & Co.'s corporate/financial practice.
