Porter Novelli announced that Jerry Franz has returned to its Washington, D.C. office as EVP and director of strategic health alliances for the health and social marketing practice. Franz joins Porter Novelli from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) where his most recent position was national VP of communications.
Franz' new duties will include providing counsel to clients such as the Alzheimer's Association and the National Cancer Institute. Before his decade-long tenure at the ADA, Franz had been a SVP at Porter Novelli Washington.
While at the ADA, he bolstered strategic alliances with government health agencies such as the US Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, as well as health voluntaries such as the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
He also provided strategic counsel to the ADA's corporate partners, including Eli Lilly, Abbott Laboratories, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer.
"His expertise in diabetes and obesity will be of enormous value to our clients who increasingly face the challenge of tackling these far- reaching health issues," Rob Gould, senior partner and general manager of Porter Novelli Washington, said in a press release.
