LOS ANGELES: Anita Santiago advertising has won the Hispanic marketing duties for Ikea North America. While the account centers on advertising and media, the West Coast agency is also charged with public relations initiatives for the Swedish megastore retailer.
The agency will kick off those efforts with a Cinco de Mayo event at the Covina, CA, store on the weekend of May 8.
Other PR efforts will at first focus on the Los Angeles area but may expand to other parts of the country as the program evolves.
"The public relations plans are still in development but may include a Hispanic-spokesperson program and a community-relations program that will support existing IKEA community efforts and create new efforts within the Los Angeles Hispanic community," explained Nidia Caceros Tatalovich, Anita Santiago's director of PR.
