Publishers group names Polskin its new VP of comms

NEW YORK: The trade organization Magazine Publishers of America has named former Sony communications executive Howard Polskin as its VP of communications. Polskin will be responsible for overseeing internal and external communications strategies and will be charged with creating a membership-communications strategy.

NEW YORK: The trade organization Magazine Publishers of America has named former Sony communications executive Howard Polskin as its VP of communications. Polskin will be responsible for overseeing internal and external communications strategies and will be charged with creating a membership-communications strategy.

The MPA represents more than 240 publishing companies with 1,400 titles, as well as 80 international companies.

Before joining the MPA, Polskin worked for Sony Corporation of America, where he was VP of communications. Before that, he worked in PR for CNN and Turner Broadcasting. He began his career as a journalist and spent nine years as a staff writer in the New York bureau of TV Guide.
