NEW YORK: Sloane & Company has hired Anton Nicholas, former CEO of FD Morgan-Walke (now Financial Dynamics), as its newest MD, CEO Elliot Sloane said. Nicholas left FD Morgan-Walke in July 2003 after nearly eight months as head of its U.S. operation. His departure came just as the agency embarked on a months-long rebranding process following its $42-million buy-out by Cordiant Communications. FD Morgan-Walke dropped the names of its founders -- Lynne Morgen and David Walke -- and reemerged as Financial Dynamics.
Nicholas started May 3 as one of three MDs at Sloane and Company, a New York-based corporate communications firm founded in 1998 by Elliot Sloane, the former EVP of Edelman Financial Worldwide. The agency's clients include AT&T, Wyeth, and Deutsche Bank.
"When he became available, it was one of those opportunities that we felt we could not pass up," Sloane said of Nicholas. "He brings exactly the type of skill set that we want for our business, which is a very strong capital-markets orientation, a global point of view. He has worked across industries."
Nicholas said he had taken time off since leaving FD.
"What struck me about joining a firm like Sloane & Company," Nicholas said, "was that I was going to have the opportunity to get back into doing client servicing again. And it [is] a very hands-on place, which was something else that I appreciated."
