WASHINGTON: Longtime radio executive Robert Garcia has joined Strauss Radio Strategies (SRS) as managing director in its DC office. Garcia spent the last eight years as VP of the CNNRadio Network in Atlanta, and the previous seven as executive producer of the Washington bureau of CBS Radio. He is also a former chairman of the Radio-Television News Directors Association, where he helped lead the effort to create an industry code of ethics.
"Robert brings nearly 30 years of experience as a broadcast news journalist and executive, specifically in our area of expertise -- radio," said Richard Strauss, President of SRS. "His management skills, his knowledge of the radio industry at the station and network level, and his contacts in the business are invaluable."
Garcia is SRS's first DC managing director. The firm also has a year-old office in New York.
