NEW YORK: Ruder Finn has been named AOR for Air France USA. The financial details of the account and the number of finalists were not disclosed. Air France USA said that this was the first time it hired an agency for a strategic media program. Ruder Finn plans to devote about six key people to the team to work on varying roles, said Gail Moaney, EVP and director of the agency's travel and tourism practice.
"Our major focus will be media relations to make certain that the US media - trade and consumer - know what Air France is doing," Moaney said.
Earlier this month, Air France completed its merger with Netherlands-based KLM.
"We'll be able to leverage the brands of both airlines," Moaney said.
Air France said that it had looked for an agency that could represent the company as both an international and European brand.
"Ruder Finn's expertise in the air-travel industry, as well as its understanding of European business and culture, convinced us that the agency was the ideal partner in the launching of the campaign," Marie-Joseph Male, VP and GM of Air France USA, said in a press release.
