New appointments at PRWeek include news, web editors

NEW YORK: Thom Weidlich has been appointed news editor of PRWeek following the departure of Paul Cordasco, who joined Starkman & Associates.

NEW YORK: Thom Weidlich has been appointed news editor of PRWeek following the departure of Paul Cordasco, who joined Starkman & Associates.

Weidlich has been a freelance journalist, writing for The New York Times and others. He was the features editor of PRWeek from 1999 to 2000 and is the author of a book on British philosopher Bertrand Russell.

PRWeek has made several other new hires, most recently Beth Herskovits, PRWeek's new healthcare reporter, from Ocular Surgery News.

Tom Acitelli, who covers financial communications, IR, and various PR services, previously covered education and business at newspapers in North Carolina.

Keith O'Brien is editor of PRWeek.com, which is now updated daily. He joined from Venture Reporter, where he covered investments and M&As in the network-security and wireless industries.

Matthew Creamer has been promoted to associate editor (media). He continues to edit the media page and write the Media Brands column. Copy editor Telisha Bryan edits the Campaigns section.
